Selling a DACH leader in translation to a Swedish interpretation company
The Mandate
24translate was a market leading language solutions integrator (LSI) for the DACH region based out of Hamburg, Germany, and Sankt Gallen, Switzerland. It was known for being technology-forward, with an AI-supported platform and commitment to IT security.
The company served a wide range of client verticals and had a strong presence in the financial sector, supported by a network of thousands of professional translators. 24translate was founded in 1999 and, after 25+ years of operating, the owner was ready to initiate the sale of the company.
Slator’s Role
24translate mandated Slator to be the exclusive sell-side advisor in the company’s sales process, supported by our trusted partner firm Maveria.
With the utmost commitment to our client’s priorities, we designed the process, crafted a bespoke outreach list, and led communication with potential buyers. When the ultimate buyer emerged, we worked on behalf of our client to finalize the transaction.
The Outcome
24translate and DigitalTolk completed the transaction successfully, and announced the acquisition in Q3 2025.
“We’re excited to join the DigitalTolk family. DigitalTolk’s track record of innovation in the interpretation space aligns perfectly with our vision of technology-driven language services. This partnership allows us to enhance our offering to clients, while continuing to prioritise quality, security, and service.” — Pascal Bättig, CEO, 24translate
Virpal Singh, CEO, DigitalTolk added, “Together, we’ll be able to offer our Swedish and British clients access to world-class translation capabilities, while introducing our interpretation platform and AI interpreter to the German and Swiss markets.”
