DigitalTolk, a market leader in interpretation and translation services in Sweden, has acquired 24translate, a technologically advanced German-Swiss translation provider with a strong presence in the DACH region. The acquisition marks a strategic expansion for DigitalTolk into new European markets and client segments.
Founded in 1999, 24translate has built a reputation as a trusted translation partner for businesses across Germany and Switzerland, particularly in the financial sector. The company is known for its strong AI-supported translation platform, its high standards in IT security, and its network of over 7,000 professional and loyal translators. Over the past 25 years, 24translate has translated more than one billion words, establishing itself as a leader in high-quality, secure, and efficient translation services.
DigitalTolk has spent the past decade transforming the Swedish interpretation market with its proprietary digital platform, which matches public sector clients with interpreters in seconds. The company’s tech-driven approach and commitment to customer service have made it the preferred partner for many of Sweden’s largest regions.
“This is a significant milestone for DigitalTolk,” said Virpal Singh, CEO of DigitalTolk. “24translate has built an exceptional tech platform and client base. Their team’s work in combining AI with human expertise has created one of the most advanced AI-human translation platforms in the world. Together, we’ll be able to offer our Swedish and British clients access to world-class translation capabilities, while introducing our interpretation platform and AI interpreter to the German and Swiss markets.”
Pascal Bättig, CEO at 24translate, added: “We’re excited to join the DigitalTolk family. DigitalTolk’s track record of innovation in the interpretation space aligns perfectly with our vision of technology-driven language services. This partnership allows us to enhance our offering to clients, while continuing to prioritise quality, security, and service.”
The combined organisation will invest further in R&D to advance language technology across both interpretation and translation services. This move positions the group as one of the most technologically advanced language service providers in Europe, bringing together Nordic digital innovation with deep market knowledge in the DACH region.
The acquisition also supports DigitalTolk’s ambition to build a pan-European platform for public and private sector clients seeking fast, reliable, and secure language services.
