Translingua Adds Lawtank Expertise and Two Locations Following Partnership Deal

Swiss Language Solutions Integrators (LSIs) Lawtank and Translingua are joining forces. Discussions began in the spring of 2025, culminating in a partnership formalized over the summer and launched in November 2025 under the leadership of Translingua Managing Director, Lorenz Eymann.

Translingua operates as a general translation and localization provider, having evolved its business model to integrate AI and achieve ISO quality certification in 2022. Lawtank, founded in 2000 by attorney/notary Michael Vonmoos, is a pioneer in Swiss legal translations

Vonmoos built the firm to serve companies with complex needs that cross both linguistic and legal borders. Explaining the origin of the partnership, Eymann told Slator he was “actively seeking partnerships to renew our capabilities in the area of workflow tools and AI.”

He noted that Lawtank was an ideal partner, as “it had already procured and introduced these systems several years ago.”

The scale of the combined firm is substantial: it will serve over 1,000 corporate clients with a network of more than 500 specialist linguists, covering over 40 languages. The revamped Translingua will center on providing subject-specific AI translations within a proprietary, ultra-secure Swiss data environment.

The partnership is expected to drive efficiency and expand market reach. Eymann shared that the firms “have virtually no overlapping clients,” calling this a nice upside.

The combined entity will fully integrate Lawtank’s language services, employees, and infrastructure starting in January 2026. The Lawtank brand will be preserved, but it will focus exclusively on innovative legal services, separate from the core Translingua-branded language offerings.

Eymann identified mastering rapid technological change as Translingua’s most important challenge, alongside improving customer advisory services and linguist collaboration. Looking ahead, he stated that “we see market potential in both legal and other specialist translations, such as education, science and finance.”

The partners are committed to having the companies remain 100% Swiss-owned, but not Swiss-limited, headquartered in Zurich, and with the addition of Lawtank’s Bern location and a back office in Pristina, Kosovo.

Vonmoos will assume the role of Chair of the Board of Directors while Eymann will manage the business. Project teams in Bern and Zurich will remain unchanged.
