Selling a leading US-based language technology platform.

The Mandate

Transfiex was a US-based language technology platform (LTP) specializing in language AI and localization management. The company offered connectivity and AI capabilities to help customers translate digital content on platforms such as SaaS, software, and websites, mobile apps, games, and videos, etc.

Founded in 2009, Transifex provided real-time localization and enabled businesses to automatically update translations across digital channels without code redeployment or complex third-party system integrations. Its customers included marketers and developers.

Slator’s Role

When the time came for Transifex’s owners to exit, they turned to Slator as the market authority on language solutions and AI, trusting us to understand and communicate their positioning in a way that would resonate with potential buyers.

Enlisting the support of our trusted partner firm Maveria, we ran a professional sell-side process, collaborating closely with our client to connect them with potential acquirers. The process led to the company’s acquisition by XTM, the UK-based localization platform backed by private equity firm K1.

The Outcome

Transifex and XTM completed the transaction successfully, and announced the acquisition in Q1 2025

This acquisition is a testament to Transifex’s innovative approach to localization and our unwavering commitment to empowering global teams. By joining forces with XTM International, we are creating a unified approach that blends enterprise-grade technology with agile, AI-driven solutions.” — Chris Menier, CEO, Transifex

Ian Evans, CEO, XTM International added “The acquisition of Transifex marks a significant milestone in XTM’s technology evolution. It will drive a consistent, comprehensive AI strategy across the entire platform to embrace AI in line with corporate strategies and governance. […] We are proud to welcome Transifex and its talented employees to the XTM family!”
