Enabling a Spanish translation company’s acquisition by a US buyer

The Mandate

Tick Translations was a Spain-based provider of translation, localization, transcreation, and interpretation services, with a presence in Barcelona and Madrid. 

The company was founded in 2011 and had expertise within the European banking and financial sector. It also specialized in technical translation and sworn translations, as well as serving corporate and legal clients and government organizations. 

Slator’s Role

When Tick Translations’ owners were ready to exit the business, they mandated Slator to support them in their M&A sell-side process, drawing on our vast network of potential buyers and deep knowledge of the market for language solutions and AI. 

During the outreach phase, we connected Tick Translations to LanguageNetwork, a US-based language solutions integrator, which emerged as the company’s ultimate buyer. 

The Outcome

Tick Translations and LanguageNetwork completed the transaction successfully. In Q1 2025, Tick Translation joined the LanguageNetwork brand of companies, under which it continues to deliver multilingual communication services.
