Language Solutions Integrator Acclaro Announces Key Leadership Hires

US-based Language Solutions Integrator (LSI) Acclaro has announced two new appointments that underscore its strategic push into technology-led, platform-driven localization.

The company appointed Steve Baggerly as Chief Product and Technology Officer (CPTO) in October 2025. His arrival is now followed by the addition of Ed Jackowiak as Director of Transformation at what Acclaro calls a “pivotal time of transformation, innovation, and growth.”

Baggerly brings more than 30 years of experience in technology leadership and SaaS platform development across multiple industries, including a strong focus on artificial intelligence and automation in localization. He joins Acclaro after serving as Head of AI Enablement at Welocalize. Before that, he was Chief Technology Officer at Cloudwords, acquired by Welocalize in early 2024.

Acclaro CEO Russell Haworth told Slator that Baggerly stood out for his “rare combination of deep localization expertise and proven technology leadership.”

Haworth highlighted Baggerly’s ability to understand both the “art and science” of delivering global language solutions, noting that his experience building and operationalizing localization platforms makes him “the ideal executive to drive Acclaro’s future vision.”

“Localization will be increasingly driven by software platforms that can not only translate but also create content for global markets – helping customers achieve real return on investment.”

Advancing Acclaro’s Long-Term Vision

According to Haworth, Acclaro’s long-term vision centers on making “translation and localization effortless for global teams.”

The company’s announcement also noted that “localization will be increasingly driven by software platforms that can not only translate but also create content for global markets – helping customers achieve real return on investment.”

To support this shift, Haworth told Slator that Acclaro is investing heavily in innovation through internal development and targeted acquisitions. Key initiatives include:

  • expanding Acclaro’s microservices framework,
  • advancing its API and integration ecosystem, and
  • rolling out new AI-enabled tools to streamline translation and content workflows.

These efforts aim to enhance automation while preserving what Haworth described as Acclaro’s “translation quality and cultural intelligence.”

Baggerly will focus on strengthening Acclaro’s product and technology organization, overseeing the expansion of tools, platforms, and integrations designed to make localization faster, more intelligent, and increasingly automated, without compromising quality.

In his first six to twelve months, he will review and refine the existing technology roadmap and lay the groundwork for a new suite of tools intended to “redefine the localization process and translation experience,” according to Haworth.

Toward a Unified Content Lifecycle

Baggerly told Slator that he sees significant opportunity in creating a “unified content lifecycle,” where content creation, translation, and delivery operate as one seamless, globally scalable process. He noted growing demand from global brands for systems that support content reuse, regional personalization, and rapid multi-channel publishing.

The challenge, he said, is designing technology that is both “powerful and effortless,” deeply integrated into enterprise systems while remaining invisible within client workflows.

Empowering Linguists, Not Replacing Them

Despite Acclaro’s growing investment in AI and automation, both Baggerly and Haworth stressed that human expertise remains central to the company’s approach. Haworth said Acclaro’s strategy is not to replace the human element but to enhance it through smarter, more integrated technology.

Baggerly echoed this view, noting that cultural nuance, brand sensitivity, and authentic communication are “uniquely human strengths.” He emphasized that AI cannot replace these capabilities, explaining that Acclaro’s technology is built to empower linguists and localization teams, enabling them to work faster and more efficiently without compromising quality.

Transformation, Innovation, and Growth

Shortly after announcing Baggerly’s appointment, Acclaro added Ed Jackowiak as Director of Transformation.

Jackowiak brings more than 25 years of experience in technology leadership, AI, cybersecurity, and enterprise software, along with a long track record of leading technology companies through growth and acquisition.

He previously served as CEO of CyGlass for over six years, guiding the cybersecurity company through multiple acquisitions and organizational transitions. His background also includes senior roles in sales and management across high-tech and security software firms, and various advisory roles with AI-focused startups and scale-ups.

Haworth described Jackowiak’s arrival as well-timed for a period of rapid industry evolution. As AI and new content technologies reshape client expectations around speed, quality, and scalability, Haworth said this moment represents “both opportunity and transformation” for Acclaro.

Jackowiak’s expertise in aligning people, processes, and technology will help the company strengthen its foundations while expanding its tech-enabled services. Haworth noted that his leadership will allow Acclaro to “grow with agility, excellence, and purpose” as it enters its next phase.
