Korn Translations and Zaum Langs Merged Under Idlewild Burg Group

On February 24, 2025 language service providers (LSPs) Korn Translations and Zaum Langs announced a merger that will join the companies within the Idlewild Burg group. 

As of December 1, 2024, both Zaum Langs and Korn Translations (or Korn Traduções, in Portuguese) are owned in their entirety by Idlewild Burg, Inc. Financial details of the deal were not disclosed. 

“The companies are currently going through the merger phase and gaining efficiencies across all functional areas of the company,” Zaum Langs CEO Michael Marsan told Slator. “Although the companies are integrating into one operational platform, both companies will retain their brand for the near future while the leadership team assesses the branding strategy.”

Marsan, who has also served as CEO of the Idlewild Burg group since 2021, explained that the plan is to “grow substantially through additional acquisitions and a strong emphasis on account management in the USA and Latin America over the next few years.”

Indeed, a February 2025 LinkedIn post from Korn Translations announcing the merger noted that together the companies will expand their presence in those markets.

Korn Translations, based in São Paulo, Brazil, includes a team of more than 40, ranging from translators, revisers, and language QA experts to account managers and project managers. The company also holds four ISO certifications, for general quality management (9001), quality management in translation (17100), post-editing (18587), and information security and data protection (27001).

Zaum Langs, founded in 2011, is headquartered in St. Petersburg, Florida with offices in São Paulo. In addition to translation, the LSP provides voice-overs and subtitling. Multilingual multimedia and interpreting have been growing areas for Zaum Langs. 

“Demand is currently good and is expected to strengthen in the coming years,” Marsan said, adding that AI advancements have enabled clients “to get more for their money, a bit faster, and translate content that might not have been within reach of their budgets before.”
