Government Technology Service Provider Procentrix Wades into AI Translation

Technology service provider Procentrix has released a new, translation-focused product: the Translation Analytics Linking and Intelligence System, also known as TALIS.

The AI-backed system helps users process and analyze materials in “nearly 200” languages, including digital audio, video, and document files, “almost in real time.”

Senior VP of Corporate Strategy Phil Miller was quoted in a January 27, 2025 announcement as calling it a “game-changer” for agencies processing materials in multiple languages, including those handling “national security, law enforcement, and public safety missions.”

Built on “approved” Microsoft Azure services, the large language models (LLMs) embedded within the system allow users to connect data across case files.

Miller said that clients have already benefited from the new system, adding, “A large investigative agency using TALIS has seen media-file analysis reduced from approximately 80 hours to just eight minutes.”

According to Procentrix’s website, its AI-powered translation and transcription services can help “[s]treamline operations and cut overhead costs [and] effortlessly process and analyze digital audio, video, and document files of any size[.]”

Beyond TALIS, the company offers low-code platforms, cloud services, data analytics, and AI, among other services. Procentrix regularly serves US government organizations related to Homeland Security and Judiciary, Regulatory, and Defense departments.

Like many companies headquartered in Herndon, Virginia, Procentrix’s core clientele includes federal and defense agencies. For that reason, rather than marking Procentrix’s foray into new terrain, TALIS signifies yet another opportunity for such agencies to trust Procentrix with a greater share of their workload. The move could, however, give language service providers (LSPs) specialized in government contracts a run for their money.

Indeed, Procentrix features a number of contract wins on its website. The most recent, as of mid-December 2024, is One Acquisition Solution for Integrated Services Plus (OASIS+), a vehicle for multi-award contracts across federal agencies. (For this particular contract vehicle, Procentrix will provide building inspection services.)

Other current, multiyear contracts include Rapid Application Technology Services to the Department of Justice and work on Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) applications and systems. Procentrix is also the prime contractor for the US Securities and Exchange Commission ONE IT contract, which has an estimated value of USD 2.5bn.

Procentrix was founded in 2007 and is now headed by President and CEO Mike Hughes and CTO Amar Melige.
