FIFA Recruits for Language Team in Zurich and Brazil

FIFA is hiring for two language-related roles across its Zurich headquarters and its local subsidiary in Brazil, as the football governing body prepares for upcoming global events.

In Zurich, FIFA is recruiting a permanent, full-time English translator for a hybrid role covering translation, proofreading, transcription, subtitling, terminology management, and linguistic advisory support for internal stakeholders. The role also includes drafting minutes for FIFA Council and Congress meetings, as well as leading internal linguistic projects.

The successful candidate will be expected to “evaluate, implement and optimise” AI-assisted translation, terminology, and quality-control tools, including post-editing AI-generated content, identifying workflow automation opportunities, and contributing to internal guidelines for responsible AI use.

FIFA is seeking candidates with at least three years’ experience as a translator or in the language industry, English as a mother tongue, and fluency in Spanish and French, alongside a strong understanding of translation technologies and digital workflow solutions.

Separately, FIFA is hiring a fixed-term, full-time translation project manager in Brazil for the FIFA Women’s World Cup 2027. The role sits within the FIFA27 Language Centre team and will support multilingual content delivery for athletes, fans, partners, and other stakeholders.

Responsibilities include managing translation services for the FIFA Women’s World Cup 2027 office, planning language operations before and during the tournament, allocating resources, and coordinating large multilingual projects across content platforms, apps, and publications. The role also involves strengthening FIFA’s translation vendor network in the Americas, if required.

AI is also part of the Brazil-based role, with FIFA specifying that the translation project manager should identify and use AI technologies to deliver language services, with a focus on streamlining processes and increasing productivity.

Candidates must have at least five years’ experience as a translation or localization project manager, including two years with Trados, and must be fluent in English and Portuguese, with Spanish considered a major plus.
