He has an MBA in Finance and Investments from The George Washington University in Washington DC and has been based in Asia for over 25 years.

Florian is the Managing Director of Slator and host of the SlatorPod podcast. Based in Zurich, Florian Faes spent almost a decade in Asia before launching Slator in 2015. Slator is the most up-to-date source of news and analysis covering language services and technology and works as a distributed team based in Asia, Europe, and the US.

Véronique Özkaya brings over 25 years of technology and global content services experience from leading several organizations, in a commercial or general management capacity. Currently, she is CEO of San Francisco-based Argos Multilingual, which provides global content services to the High Tech, HR Tech and Life Sciences sectors. Véronique is known in her industry as a growth leader, who helps organizations identify the strengths that will enable them to unleash their true potential. She is a frequent speaker at events on leadership and diversity.

As Managing Director, Lionbridge Games, Tugdual Delisle is responsible for Lionbridge Games’ strategy and execution across product management, solutions, business development, and delivery. He oversees a passionate team of experts who help bring games to life for the industry’s largest and fastest-growing publishers, developers, and platform holders. Tugdual has 20 years of experience in global business strategy, service innovation, strategic account planning, sales management, and operations supervision. He joined Lionbridge in 2002 to oversee strategic development for global accounts and spearheaded the launch of Lionbridge’s Games vertical in 2013.Born and raised in the Brittany region of France, Tugdual earned bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Technical Translation and Terminology in Germany and France, respectively. He has resided in Seattle, WA for the past 20 years.

Marie Amigues settled in Berlin in 2006 after living in Paris, Ottawa, and New York. She is the CEO and founder of Altagram.

Following her studies in Philosophy at La Sorbonne, Marie obtained an MBA in marketing management at Essec. In 2017, Marie was selected as one of the Top 10 Women in Management in Germany’s gaming industry.

Passion, hard work, and expertise are the driving forces behind Marie’s accomplishments. She has brought together a team of over 150 talented in-house game localization specialists who have successfully shipped over 5,500 game titles since 2006 for prestigious clients such as Square Enix, Supercell, Blizzard, and SEGA, to name a few.

In 2020 she founded Alocai, an artificial intelligence machine and platform for video game localization, of which she is also the CEO.

Anna is a language services industry professional with expertise in project management, management and quality systems, and a special interest in the life sciences sector. Starting her career in data annotation in Sydney, she then gained 10 years’ experience in London and Madrid with major LSPs before joining Slator as a research contributor. She holds a B.A. (Hons) in Linguistics from the University of Sydney.

Dr. Konstantinos Chatzitheodorou received his Ph.D. in Applied Translation Studies and Computational Linguistics. He holds a BA in Linguistics from Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, and an MSc in Informatics in Humanities from the Department of Informatics, Ionian University. He is also ECQA Certified Terminology Manager – Engineering.

As the Head of Machine Learning at Pangeanic, Konstantinos is responsible for developing and executing the company’s machine learning strategy, designing and deploying machine learning models and algorithms, and ensuring the quality and accuracy of the technology. He works closely with stakeholders to understand their business challenges and identifies opportunities for machine learning to make a positive impact.

Dr. Steinbiss is the Managing Director of AppTek GmbH. His substantial experience in human language technology goes back to the late 1980s when he helped pioneering large-vocabulary continuous-speech recognition at Philips Research. In the 90s, he was instrumental in Philips creating three worldwide first speech recognition products: name dialing on the handheld cell phone SPARK; the professional 20,000 word continuous-speech radiology dictation system SP6000; and the Philips mixed-initiative telephone-network-based train inquiry system.

Mr. Steinbiss next became interested in statistical machine translation in the 1990s, and later in speech translation. As a staff member of RWTH Aachen University, he managed a project within the 200+MEUR French-German Quaero program (2008-2013). With his company Accipio Projects GmbH, he was the coordinator of the speech translation project EU-BRIDGE (2012-2015), at the time the largest EU-funded integrated project in human language technology.

Mr. Steinbiss holds a degree in mathematics and a PhD from Göttingen University and was a scholarship holder of the German National Merit Foundation and of the French Government.

Chris Dell leads Booking.com’s Content Agency, which covers Localisation, Content Moderation, Editorial, Marketing Copy, Geodata, and many other content tracks. He has over 20 years’ experience in content creation, management, and translation, and is passionate about topics of leadership, cross-cultural communication, and interactions between humans and technology.

Konstantin Savenkov is Intento CEO and Co-founder. After getting a PhD in 2008, Konstantin Savenkov led research and development efforts for online content services, then worked as Chief Technology Officer at Zvooq and as a Chief Operating Officer at Bookmate. In 2016, he contributed his experience in Artificial Intelligence (AI), tech and operations to found Intento, Inc., where they build tools to source, evaluate and use machine translation and other cognitive AI services.

Martin started his career as a professional translator. After that, he has been transited to L10n project manager on the vendor side for 7+ years before he went to client side. Then on the client side, he acted most as a technical L10n program manager for 7+ years. After joining VMware in 2018, he has been focusing on MT and related programs.

From 2019 to 2021, he did the conceptual design, co-lead the effort of MT solution including MT custom, MT quality prediction and APE (Automatic Post Editing) from POC to production. MT/NLP is one of his current focuses.

Jon leads global content solutions development at Procore Technologies, the world-leader in construction management. He has previously held senior roles in solutions architecture and MT leadership for the world’s largest language service providers where he devised strategies to solve globalization challenges faced by a range of customers, including the Fortune 100 and the hottest tech start-ups. In his spare time, Jon moonlights as an adjunct instructor and holds an award in “Teaching Excellence” from New York University.

Jose is the Director of Localization at Coupa, the world-leading Business Spend Management firm headquartered in San Mateo, California. Born and raised in Barcelona, Jose’s trajectory in our industry spans more than 20 years as a translator, technologist, business leader, and entrepreneur. He brings to the table his combined experience from the vendor and buyer sides, a keen interest in all things technology, and an outspoken attitude toward how to empower our community, do more, and do better.

A proud dog dad and husband, when he is not heads-down with his team localizing enterprise assets into 70+ locales, he relishes life by learning new things, taking photographs, playing games, cooking for others, and not taking anything too seriously.
