Florian is the Managing Director of Slator and host of the SlatorPod podcast. Based in Zurich, Florian Faes spent almost a decade in Asia before launching Slator in 2015. Slator is the most up-to-date source of news and analysis covering language services and technology and works as a distributed team based in Asia, Europe, and the US.

Dr Christopher Kurz holds a PhD in translation quality management from the University of Leipzig and a Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt. He is the Head of Translation Management at ENERCON, a leading global supplier of onshore wind turbines. Former positions include roles like technical lead translator, project manager and translation manager at SDL International (now RWS), BMW and Deutsche Bahn. Together with Jean-Marc Dalla-Zuanna, he is the co-editor of Translation Quality in the Age of Digital Transformation.

Christopher has been part of ISO TC 37/SC 5/Working Group 1 Translation since 2011 and has been involved in the development of the ISO 17100, ISO 11669 and ISO 18587 standards. He is also project leader of the recently published ISO 5060 – Evaluation of Translation Output.

Meet Jorgelina Venturi, Business Developer Manager at tbotalent, known as “The Talent Lady” She’s the mastermind behind matching talents and incredible companies. With over 12 years of experience in the Tech and Localization industry, she brings a depth of knowledge and expertise to her role.

As a proud member of Women in Localization and a LocLunch Ambassador, Jorgelina is dedicated to building community in her industry. Outside of work, she’s a big fan of outdoor sports, and what truly fills her heart is being a mom to three awesome daughters.

Scott H. Jackson is the Head of Innovation at tbo., where he started in 2015 as the leader of the Into>English Department. With over a decade in Language Services, Scott has a wide range of experiences in the industry, from translation and QA to terminology management, from business strategy and data analysis to new technology adoption. He currently oversees Machine Translation operations at tbo., as well as compliance with ISO 18587.
Scott graduated cum laude from Portland State University in 2003 with a Bachelor’s degree in Arts in Letters, specializing in Spanish and Latin American Studies. He has also completed post-graduate courses in German at Goethe Institut, and Artificial Intelligence at Universidad Siglo 21.
With a professional career that includes market research, multi-media and television, Scott has consistantly positioned himself at the crossroads of language, business and technology. Since 2011 Scott has lived in Argentina, where he is married with 2 children. Scott enjoys kayaking and is an ardent proponent of the treadmill workstation.

Alex has 10+ years experience in the Translation and Localization industry, primarily in pre-sales functions (bid management and consultancy), with roles such as Solution Architect, Team Lead – Bid Management, Project and Production Manager.

George Bara is the co-founder of Zetta Cloud, an AI software product company specializing in Natural Language Processing solutions. He leads the company’s business development and strategy efforts and is focused on delivering enterprise-grade AI systems for data triage, process automation, and knowledge management.

George has 20 years of experience in the software, localization, and AI industries, and is a pioneer in designing AI approaches to tackling online disinformation, while also contributing to Romania’s national AI strategy as an expert in regulation. His focus is on advancing speech-to-text, machine translation, and text analytics solutions for the public sector and regulated industries.

Roeland Hofkens combines over 20 years of experience in multilingual content management with extensive software engineering skills and a strong background in artificial intelligence to deliver innovative products and solutions for LanguageWire. He was one of the founders of enterprise content management specialist Amplexor in Belgium. Afterwards he continued his journey in multilingual ECM as the CTO of systems integrator Westernacher in Germany. Roeland’s main focus is on building a scalable, state-of-the art language processing platform by applying deep learning and analytics to all kinds of NLP services and workflow automation tasks.

Cintia is a senior Localization Project Manager at Bold, a company specializing in online resumes and cover letters. Currently offering 14 languages and expanding to another 8 languages in 2024. She has launched 15+ new websites for Bold and plans on launching 12 more this year. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Sociology from the Federal University of São Carlos and recently graduated with a Master’s degree in Translation and Project Management from the Middlebury Institute of Monterey.

Georg Ell is the CEO of Phrase, a global leader in localization technology with over 300 employees and prestigious clients such as Uber, Shopify, Zendesk, and Deliveroo. Backed by The Carlyle Group, a global private equity firm, Phrase thrives under Georg’s extensive experience in the tech industry. With over 17 years of leadership experience, Georg has held significant roles, including CEO of Smoothwall, an education safety-tech business that gained recognition as a Top 100 UK employer under his tenure. He also served as Director for Western Europe at Tesla, leading a team of over 330 people to promote sustainable energy adoption. Before Tesla, Georg was General Manager for EMEA at Yammer, where he facilitated substantial growth and the company’s acquisition by Microsoft for $1.2 billion. Georg’s career began at Microsoft, where he was a pioneering salesperson for the company’s enterprise cloud business in Europe. In addition to his role at Phrase, Georg is a Venture Partner at LocalGlobe and Craft Ventures, and an Advisory Board Member at EQL. He holds a degree in Political Science and Management Studies from St. John’s College, Cambridge.

Simone Bohnenberger-Rich is the Chief Product Officer at Phrase, a leader in cloud-based localization technology. She joined in 2023, bringing extensive experience from her roles in AI and product leadership, including a notable tenure at Eigen Technologies as Senior Vice President of Product. At Eigen, she focused on AI and machine learning for natural language processing, aiding the company’s growth from startup to successful B2B entity.

Previously, Simone was a consultant at Monitor Deloitte, developing growth strategies in data and technology, and worked at McKinsey & Company and RBS in analytical roles.

She holds a PhD in International Relations from the London School of Economics, supporting her understanding of global market dynamics.

Rocío Txabarriaga is a localization operations and content strategy specialist with experience in senior executive and consulting roles in the language services and publishing industries spanning more than two decades. She currently lends her expertise at Slator as Senior Research Analyst and Editor, and is an Adjunct Professor of French Translation and Interpreting at Montclair State University.

Julie De Alvarenga is a Data Program Manager at e2f with a background in linguistics and translation. She has worked across the data and localization industries for nearly a decade, beginning in search relevance and currently working to streamline multilingual generative AI and LLMs as part of the e2f team.

Konstantin Savenkov is Intento CEO and Co-founder. After getting a PhD in 2008, Konstantin Savenkov led research and development efforts for online content services, then worked as Chief Technology Officer at Zvooq and as a Chief Operating Officer at Bookmate. In 2016, he contributed his experience in Artificial Intelligence (AI), tech and operations to found Intento, Inc., where they build tools to source, evaluate and use machine translation and other cognitive AI services.

Esther spent several years in France and Luxembourg for work and study, and has since returned to her native London. She has a strong languages background, having studied for degrees in French & Linguistics and Translation & Interpreting. She went on to pursue a career in the Language Services industry, where she gained PM, technology and management experience before joining the Slator team.
