In his role as DeepL’s CRO, Krause succeeds David Parry-Jones, who is retiring from the tech industry. Under Parry-Jones, DeepL transitioned from a popular AI translation tool into a suite of enterprise-grade AI products. With Krause at the helm, the initial focus will be on embedding DeepL’s agentic AI into global business operations.
“DeepL is already renowned for its world-class Language AI and is now emerging as a pioneer in agentic AI. My ambition is to bring our AI to every enterprise worldwide,” commented the new CRO.
DeepL’s CEO Jarek Kutylowski noted that Krause “knows how to take complex enterprise technology to market – and how to do it at scale. That’s exactly what DeepL needs as demand for trusted, enterprise-ready AI accelerates and our enterprise business continues to grow globally.”
Silicon Valley Pedigree
Gavin Mee’s portfolio includes senior leadership roles at Oracle, Adobe, and the cybersecurity firm Palo Alto Networks. His experience extends to the automation sector from his time at UiPath, a company specializing in robotic process automation.
As DeepL’s COO, Mee will focus on internal operational efficiency and the alignment of the company’s neural networks research with its global market aspirations, ensuring infrastructure scalability to meet the demands of a growing investor and partner base.
Jarek Kutylowski described Mee’s main task as “delivering on our AI agent vision at enterprise scale – operationally, commercially, and globally. As we move into what we see as the ‘year of the AI agent,’ that means aligning teams, sharpening execution, and ensuring customers can seamlessly embed and deploy agentic AI into real-world business workflows.”
The CEO characterized the latest appointments as a strategic move to solidify the company’s bench for the immediate future. He also noted that “2026 is about taking agentic AI from promise to everyday reality… building on the launch of DeepL Agent… alongside ongoing innovation across our translation, writing, voice and API products.”
Commenting on the company’s strategy, Kutylowski added that, for language AI, they see particularly strong demand in industries where language accuracy, security, and compliance really matter — including legal and professional services, financial services, life sciences, manufacturing, retail, and the public sector.
The leadership changes follow a period of rapid product development for the firm and other strategic hires, such as Gonçalo Gaiolas, who took on the newly created role of Chief Product Officer (CPO) in October 2025, and Martino Cadoni, who became DeepL’s Chief Financial Officer (CFO) a month later.
With these rapid-succession C-level hires, DeepL appears to be positioning itself for a more formal corporate structure as it seeks to capture a larger portion of the international enterprise AI market.
