According to coverage of the seed round, that funding was intended to further the development of the cloud-based content ops platform.
Localization plays a major part in Gridly’s offerings. In fact, the platform integrated a DeepL API in October 2024.
Albinsson’s appointment comes as Gridly refocuses on both product and commercial areas for the platform, which is meant to support content management, “from inception to publication and every step in between,” Albinsson told Slator.

Gridly’s roots in gaming are showcased in the case studies enumerated on the company’s website; clients include mobile games developer Belka Games and Angry Birds creator Rovio.
Indeed, Albinsson has a personal connection to gaming, from the “countless hours” she spent playing games on the Commodore 64 and Nintendo during her own childhood to her current experience as a “gaming mom” to a teenage son.
While Albinsson’s latest position will mark her entrée into the world of localization, her prior experience in business development and SaaS overlaps with many of Gridly’s goals. Her most recent role was as CMO at IT company Avoki, prior to which she served as CEO of Whispr Group.
Much of Albinsson’s work will focus on expanding Gridly’s reach beyond gaming companies.
“So far we’ve seen an increasing demand from med-tech, ed-tech and other SaaS-products that require fast update and lots of personalization, but any company that handles content in some shape or form would benefit from implementing Gridly,” Albinsson said.
