OSCE Seeks Language Technology Assistant to Support Translation Tech Operations

The Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE) is hiring a part-time Language Technology Assistant in Vienna to support its Conference and Language Services operations, including translation workflows, terminology management, and the use of language technology and AI-driven translation.

The role sits in the Office of the Secretary General and focuses on the technical and organizational coordination of language technology.

Duties include supporting and co-ordinating language technology and AI translation workflows for language assistants, reviewing workflows and proposing improvements, handling ticketing with external language technology providers, liaising with internal IT teams on tool updates, and maintaining the integrity of term bases and related files.

OSCE is seeking a hands-on profile with practical experience across language technology, AI translation, and terminology tools, including excellent knowledge of Trados Studio and MultiTerm, as well as familiarity with recent developments in the space.

While classified as an assistant role requiring only completed secondary education, the position calls for at least four years of work experience specifically in language technology, alongside strong hands-on knowledge of translation and terminology systems. The qualifications list also includes experience in coordinating the work of others, suggesting a broader operational remit than the title implies.

The role requires professional fluency in English, with knowledge of another OSCE language considered an asset.

The vacancy closes on May 4, 2026, with a target start date of August 17, 2026. Monthly remuneration is listed around EUR 2,000 before social security deductions.
