Enabling a leading language solutions integrator to acquire a life sciences specialist.
The Mandate
BIG Language Solutions is a leading US-based language solutions integrator (LSI), founded in 2019 and backed by private equity firm MSouth Equity Partners.
The company had completed a series of M&A transactions as part of its buy-and-build strategy. Prior examples included Protranslating (2019), healthcare specialist ISI (2020), and over-the-phone interpreting (OPI) provider Language Link (2021).
Slator’s Role
BIG Language Solutions appointed Slator to lead an acquisition search. Based on our deep understanding of the global market dynamics in language solutions, we introduced our client to a highly-specialized life sciences translation provider, Dora Wirth Languages.
Dora Wirth was a longstanding family company, based in the UK. It was founded by the owner’s mother six decades earlier in the 1960s and was BIG’s first acquisition outside of the US.
The Outcome
BIG Language Solutions and Dora Wirth Languages completed the transaction successfully, and announced the acquisition in Q3 2021.
“This deal strengthens BIG’s life science offering and expands our European footprint. We also believe BIG’s LanguageVault platform will create considerable differentiation within the life science market.” — Jeff Brink, Founder, BIG
