Selling a Budapest-based localization provider to a new B2B global brand
The Mandate
Villam Language Services was a highly-reputable and well-established language solutions integrator (LSI) based in Budapest, Hungary. It specialized in providing services including translation, transcreation, interpreting, design, editing, and subtitling.
Villam had a proprietary software solution, linguistic expertise, and understanding of the local market. It served clients across multiple industries, including technology, manufacturing, finance, and life sciences. The company was founded in 2007 by a local linguist. 18 years later, the owner was ready to sell the company and move on to other endeavours.
Slator’s Role
Villam’s owner mandated Slator and our trusted partner firm Maveria to be the joint exclusive sell-side advisors in the company’s sales process.
With the unique Slator x Maveria partnership giving us both industry expertise and M&A transaction experience, our client trusted us to lead the entire M&A sell-side process from start to finish.
We prepared the process documentation, approached selected potential buyers, and managed the process to generate interest. We supported negotiations, oversaw due diligence, and helped bring the transaction to a successful close.
The Outcome
Villam Language Services and InAnyLanguage completed the transaction successfully, and announced the acquisition in Q4 2025.
Our client shared in the press release: “Joining ‘InAnyLanguage’ is a natural evolution for Villam Language Services.” She remarked that the two companies “share a commitment to excellence and innovation, and now have the global reach to support our clients wherever they operate.”
“This acquisition brings together complementary strengths that will allow us to serve clients across more regions and more languages without compromising on quality.” — Youngmin Jeong, CEO, InAnyLanguage
